XENIOS XENOFONTOS PHARMACY

8A Costa Mishiaouli, Tseri, 2480 Nicosia (CYPRUS)

Tseri Pharmacy

OBJECTIVE

Starting with a small pharmacy in 2019, for which Dr. Xenios Xenofontos, the pharmacist, entrusted us with the design, Sartoretto Verna was contacted three years later to design and furnish a new two-story complex of recent construction. The building, designed with an isosceles triangle floor plan, featured a ground floor of approximately 170 sqm and a first floor of about 100 sqm, located in Tseri, a municipality in Cyprus with a population of 7,000, just 25 kilometers from Nicosia. The structure was organized with an external façade, the hypotenuse of the triangle, which actually opened like a semicircle with a large glass window. This window was shielded with a perforated cladding, allowing the dynamic life of the pharmacy within the complex to remain visible from the outside.

CONCEPT

The ground floor was designed with a “screened” entrance to maximize the clean, minimalist effect of the external forms. Behind this, the waiting area was organized, along with sections for natural products and items for infants, displayed on Sartoretto Verna’s wall-mounted units with upholstered panels and glass shelves (mod. Space Wall). Directly opposite the entrance, an area dedicated to high-end beauty and skincare products is supported by prominent visuals with appropriate graphics (mod. RAL8), along with an agile welcome service counter featuring circular shapes to avoid obstructing patient pathways (mod. counter LIV).

A second, softer partition of more minimalistic wall-mounted displays in aluminum (mod. RAL9) was used to showcase personal care and oral hygiene products. This also created a wall to house the laboratory and storage, guiding customers with a curved form toward the ethical section while providing an opportunity to view medications and seasonal items displayed in gondolas (mod. RAL8).

The OTC are, with two sets of wide counters (mod. Oliver), is located at the end of the pharmacy’s emotional journey. It sits between the consultation area and the medicine cabinets, all provided by Sartoretto Verna as well.

The first floor is organized around two multifunctional rooms, including a second waiting area, and features six movable plexiglass gondolas (mod. Go-Plexi) arranged radially toward the exterior. The remaining perimeter walls are fitted with combined displays in two distinct styles (mod. RAL7 and Space Wall).

The internal graphics, with delicate hues, were designed to absorb light without contrasting with the brightness and cleanliness of the façade. The only concession to boldness is the strong blue of the OTC counters, which serve as a visual landmark, present throughout the ground floor area.
