Città della Salute opens in Spoleto: the new integrated healthcare hub designed by Sartoretto Verna
In Spoleto, a new model of community healthcare is taking shape: Città della Salute, an integrated health hub of over 2,000 square meters located in Piazza D’Armi and designed by Sartoretto Verna.
The inauguration will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Piazza D’Armi, where the new facility will officially open its doors to the community. The project was born from the entrepreneurial vision of Daniele and Gabriele Pegolo, in collaboration with Dr. Riccardo Scoccianti and was developed to bring together services, expertise and health pathways dedicated to personal wellbeing in one single place.
This is not simply a new healthcare facility but an ecosystem designed to make the citizen experience more accessible, continuous and organized. A place where general medicine, specialist care, pharmacy, nursing services and wellness interact within one coherent system.
The hub includes a general medicine center with 14 offices dedicated to family doctors and 2 nursing service areas, a specialist medical center with 6 outpatient clinics, the historic Farmacia Scoccianti of approximately 600 square meters and a medical spa dedicated to care and wellbeing.
For Sartoretto Verna, Città della Salute represents a concrete example of how architecture can become a strategic tool to transform places of care.
The goal was not simply to design functional spaces but to build an integrated experience. Each area was conceived to guide patients, support professionals in their work, enhance services and make the health pathway immediately clear.
The pharmacy is not conceived as a separate environment but as an active part of the system. The outpatient clinics are not just operational rooms but spaces designed to welcome, reassure and encourage the relationship between professional and patient. The wellness areas complete a journey that places prevention, listening and continuity at the center.
This is Sartoretto Verna’s vision: designing healthcare spaces capable of generating trust, identity and value.
Città della Salute interprets a change that is now evident: the pharmacy is no longer only a place for dispensing medicines but a proximity hub for consultation and prevention.
Within the new center, Farmacia Scoccianti becomes part of a broader pathway. An evolved space, integrated with healthcare services and designed to respond to people’s real needs.
To make this transformation possible, environments must be designed with a precise logic. It is not enough to add services or increase surface areas: it is necessary to build a system capable of improving flows, protecting privacy, simplifying orientation and communicating quality from the very first entrance.
Redeveloping a building to restore value to the territory
The project was born from the recovery of a building from the 1970s, long abandoned and now transformed into a contemporary, efficient and sustainable facility.
The redevelopment is not only architectural but also urban and social. An unused place becomes an active part of the city again, turning into a new point of reference for the health of the territory.
The choice to equip the facility with photovoltaic panels further strengthens this vision: designing the healthcare of the future means creating spaces close to people but also responsible toward the environment.
A closer, more integrated and more human healthcare model
Città della Salute in Spoleto demonstrates that the future of community healthcare depends on the ability to unite services, people and spaces into one single experience.
